Lidding Film is the film sealed to trays for shelf stable, refrigerated and frozen foods.

Trays can be made from a number of plastics ranging from polyethylene terephthalate, high density polyethylene HDPE, polypropylene, polystyrene and LDPE coated paper.   An additional wildcard is the silicone spray applied to prevent what is called " de-nesting " or trays sticking together.   The amount of silicone coating varies.

These factors combined means there is no one size fits all.  The coating must be customized to the tray.
