Frozen Food Packaging

 

 

Frozen food, usually Individual quick frozen food ( IQF ) can be wrapped with cast ( CPP ) or ( BOPP) polypropylene if it is packed inside a box. 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 Polypropylene does not have good cold crack resistance.   Application for polypropylene in frozen food is baked goods on horizontal form / fill / seal.

Polypropylene can be microwaved.

IQF vegetables, meats and fish subjected to a hostile frozen environment must be packaged in polyethylene.  Not just general purpose LDPE, but with some EVA or very low density metallocene for cold crack resistance.
